A Very Merry Boxing Day

For those of you who are celebrating it today.

Yesterday was a nice day. The kids got all excited with their presents, I finally was able to get the last of the spyware and viruses off the computer, and we spent most of the afternoon down at my parents house. All in all, a very enjoyable day (and the perfect time to have a day off from work. Six and seven days a week is starting to get to me!)

I did have one of those revelations yesterday that I really am getting old. For Christmas, I got (among other things) shaving cream and after shave from the kids. And you know, there was no urge to groan or anything like that. My first reaction on opening the presents was "Cool! I need this!" I'm becoming old and practical. What's up with that?

I hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas, also.

Well, it seems you are an ungrateful offsprungperson. If you were sooooo "down" while visiting, the expensive gifts can be returned (don't bring the crappy ones back).

If, however, you description refers to geographic direction rather than mood - well, in any event, we'd prefer you refered to coming here as "up to your parents". We at least expect, deserve, an "across" or "over".

Next year it's shaving cream from us!

Dad, remember you are geographically south of me, which means that on most any map or globe that I am heading down to go to your house.

If you want me to go up to your house, let's switch! I'm sure that you'd love it up this this way, great neighborhood and all.

Besides, I said it was enjoyable and I am really looking forward to Tuesday!
