The Pope Assigns Responsibility
How long before the anti-war folks start latching onto the Pope's latest statements as proof that the war is wrong.
But the Pope didn't actually say that. He only spoke of a "grave responsibility before God." Every indication that I've seen shows that the President and the Prime Ministers of the coalition of the willing understand that responsibility. They understand the importance of the decision they have undertaken and I have trouble believing that any of them are worried about this decision affecting them on Judgment Day. They truly believe that they are taking the right course of action and that the Almighty will vindicate them.
The spin on this should be wonderful. The Pope made what I believe is a deliberately ambiguous statement and the anti-warriors are going to eat it all up as being an anti-war statement, which it is not. I do love watching the response to religious proclamations.
