Risk Transference

The risk to our troops just gone up expotentially. By withdrawing the 18th resolution we have taken away the last glimmer of hope from Saddam. Our troops are now under the gun until we actually decide to move. This is the time frame that I was worried about last night in my "Checkmate con't" post. We've told Saddam we're coming, but we haven't moved yet. The longer we sit, the greater the risk.

I hope that Bush's speech tonight is to tell us the shooting has already started. At this point, it is safer to fight than to sit. The more dispersed we are, the less effective the poison gas would be. The next few hours, before we start moving, are the last, best opportunity for Saddam to take a gas shot.

All the risk has been transferred to us. We need to transfer it back to Saddam. If we're going to have to go in, let's go.
